Chinese Green Tea Map

Tea cultivation in Menghai County has at least 1,700 years of history. Many giant tea trees, planted as long as 800 years ago, is still growing lushly in remote mountains. This green tea was formulated in 1981 from a local broad-leaf species. Tea patches are scattered on the south side of Nan-nuo Mountain.

Nan-nuo Mountain is densely covered with virgin forest. Its humus layer is as thick as 20 inches.
