E Rui Tea
| Native | E-mei Mountain |
| Appearance | firmly rolled with lasting fragrance |
| Brew | clear green |
Buddhist monks first grew tea on Emei Mountain since 10th century. Tea gardens are scattered over hillside from 2,500 to 4,000 ft in elevation. The harvest starts ten days before Pure Brightness (end of March), when shoots are only in size of rice. The making of E Rui, stamen of Emei in Chinese, is quite time-consuming - roast four times, hand-roll three times and final baking.
E-mei Mountain is one of four Chinese Buddhist mountains. The world biggest sculpture of Buddha, 71 meter in height, was carved on side of Le Mountain. Another tea from there is Bamboo Leaf Green tea.
