Dos & don'ts of tea
Do
- Drink three or more cups of green tea per day. It will provide daily needs of V A 22%, V C 30%, and V E 49%. Take more in case of greasy food, smoking, or alcohol. Drink less for women in pregnancy.
Don't
- The tea that left overnight fermented.
- If the tea is too hot or cold. Fresh-brewed green tea around 56ºC is comforting.
- For medications. It will reduce their effects.
- Chew tea-leaves.
- Before bed for who has insomnia.
- Give strong tea to children.
- That deteriorated by incorrect storage.
- With empty stomach, which sometimes causes nausea or heart-throb.
- When having phosphorus or calcium-rich seafood, for phosphorus or calcium and oxalate in tea may form calcium oxalate in the body.
- If diagnosed of anemia, for tannic acid in tea would combine with iron in foods into infusible tannic iron, impairing iron assimilation.
- Newly cropped tea. Store it at least for a month.
