Tea Storage

Airtight.   Always keep green tea in a sealed container to prevent it from oxidization and moisture. The more moisture tea contains the faster it will be deteriorated from oxidizing.

Temperature.   Always keep green tea in a cool place, such as refrigerator.

Light.   Store teas in a place away from light, since light will turn the leaves yellow and reduce the aroma.

Odor.   Always keep peculiar smell away. Because teas absorb other flavors and aromas, don't store them near spices, nor in wood and plastic containers, which can impart the taste. The Chinese used to store teas in earthen jars, wrapping them with papers and weighing them down with lime.
